I am a soprano based in New York City.
I performed my latest role, Nannetta in Verdi's Falstaff, in June 2014 with Utopia Opera in New York City. This was my second time singing with the company - in February 2013, I sang the title role of Marie in Donizetti's La fille du régiment. There was much saluting and a hilariously terrible music lesson involved!
I especially enjoy comedic opera, so I was excited to take on the melodramatic role of Madame Herz in Mozart's one-act opera, Der Schauspieldirektor with Apollo Opera in December 2013. In November 2012, I sang the role of the sorceress Morgana in Handel's Alcina with Opera Company of Brooklyn.
In addition to my operatic roles, I am equally at home on the concert stage. I was invited to join Gravity Shift, an exciting new ensemble founded by conductor Daniela Candillari, in 2014. Performing in one of the most spectacular spaces in New York City, The Crypt at The Church of the Intercession, I sang the Stabat Mater by Pergolesi with Gravity Shift in their inaugural performance in March 2014. (To watch a video of the performance, please visit the Media page!) This November, I will return to The Crypt with Gravity Shift for an All Souls' recital, featuring music by Ravel, Strauss, and Carpenter.
I came to the city to attend Mannes College of Music, where I was a member of the acclaimed Mannes Opera. Originally from Atlanta, GA, I grew up singing in church choirs, a tradition I continue to this day - I am currently a staff singer at Grace Church in Brooklyn Heights.
